10 days Victoria Falls and Botswana safari, this classic and very popular self-drive tour takes you through some of Africa’s most beautiful wilderness areas, where you’ll almost certainly see wildlife that you have never seen before. Start your trip with the Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side, then proceed to the Zambia side as you spend your nights in fancy hotels near the falls. Then go camping in the middle of the African desert. Spend the last part of your trip on a private island in Botswana’s beautiful Okavango Delta. Drop off will either be Livingstone, Zambia, or Maun, Botswana, based on which flight works best for you. Africa warmly welcomes you.

Detailed itinerary of 10 days Victoria Falls and Botswana safari
Day 1:Arrival at Victoria Falls – sunset boat cruise on the Zambezi River
Take a flight to Victoria Falls airport and on arrival transfer to the accommodation for relaxation and lunch. In the late afternoon, embark on a peaceful sunset cruise on the Zambezi River. Enjoy watching wildlife like elephants, hippos, and crocodiles at the riverbanks. You may also spot some bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner and a night’s stay.
Day 2: Explore the Victoria Falls
After breakfast, go for a guided tour of the Victoria Falls. Explore the various viewpoints, learn the history and geological formation of the falls from the guides.
Lunch will be at your accommodation, and later in the afternoon, visit a nearby village or market for a cultural experience and interaction with the local people. Enjoy a traditional dinner with the Boma drums experience. Enjoy an African buffet with lots of appetizers and desserts in addition to the traditional drumming, dancing, and storytelling.
Day 3: Explore the Victoria Falls on the Zambia side
From the Zimbabwe side of the Victoria Falls, cross the Victoria Falls bridge to the Zambia side.
Start the day with a morning helicopter flight, where you will enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the falls and the surrounding landscape. Explore more about the falls at different viewpoints, including the boiling point, the knife-edge bridge, and the Devil’s Pool. If the water levels are low, you can go swimming in the pool or carry out other activities like white-water rafting and kayaking.
Day 4:Transfer to Chobe National Park
After an early breakfast, travel to Chobe National Park in Botswana. The journey takes i-2 hours, depending on the traffic and the time spent at the border crossing (Kazungula border). This park is known for harbouring large elephant herds. Check in on arrival, relax, and then lunch.
After lunch, go for a boat cruise on the Chobe River where you will witness a large concentration of animals including hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and many water birds. Return to the accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Note: you should have visas for both countries, Zambia and Botswana.
Day 5: Full day game drive in Chobe National Park
You will have an early breakfast, then proceed for a full-day game drive in Chobe National Park. This full-day excursion typically includes guides who take you through the park, watching out for game while giving you insights into the habits and habitats of these amazing creatures. Lunch will be served inside the national park. After lunch, continue the search for more animals in the park. While in this park, expect to spot elephants, buffalo, lions, giraffes, antelope species including bushbucks, puku, kudu, impalas, zebra, lechwe, and wildebeest. At around 1600hrs, you will exit the park and drive back to your lodge.
Day 6: Transfer to Savuti Wildlife Reserve
Start the day with a morning game drive inside the Chobe National Park. The drive to try and spot what we missed in the last two days or cherish more what you have seen before. From here, proceed to Savuti Wildlife Reserve for more wildlife experiences. Check in on arrival for lunch. Optional afternoon opportunities include game drives, boat cruises, and guided nature walks.
If you visit this reserve in January and February, expect to witness the annual zebra migration, where some predators are spotted as they wait to catch their prey.
Day 7: Full day game drives in the Savuti Wildlife Reserve
Savuti Game Reserve is a remote and wild extension of Chobe National Park. This place is a good spot for wildlife as it’s wide, open, and desert-like, which provides an opportunity to spot different animals, including roaming lions, antelopes, buffalo, herds of elephants, and many other wildlife creatures. the landscape of this place and the marshland attract a lot of wildlife and thus favoring game and birding activities.
Day 8: Drive to Okavango Delta
After an early morning breakfast, with a packed lunch/snacks, embark on a day’s journey to the Okavango Delta. You may have a simple break for lunch and then proceed with your drive. Arrival will be in the late evening hours. Check in at the lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 9: Exploration of the Okavango Delta
At Maun, meet with your Mokoro guide, who will assist you in the day’s exploration. Feel the experience of the delta as you explore the waterways where you will see elephants, hippos, and aquatic birds.
After lunch under a canopy of baobab trees, embark on a nature walk on the island where you will see animals like elephants, zebras, giraffes, impalas, white and black rhinos, cheetahs, African Wild dogs, and bushbucks, among others. In the late evening hours, you will return to the lodge/camp for dinner. You will have a chance to meet other travelers, and poolers share their experience, dance, and play traditional games. It’s an amazing experience.
Day 10: Departure
On the last day of your 10-day Victoria Falls and Botswana safari, start this morning with a set off on the very long journey to Victoria Falls. Today’s total journey time is approximately eleven hours (depending on time spent at the border crossings), including comfort breaks and a lunch break. The crossing point into Namibia is the Mohembo Border Post. The drive will take you north to Namibia’s Caprivi Strip, before heading to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
